Pro theme · Ambient New Tab for Chrome & Edge
A real GPU fluid simulation. Drops of ink bloom up from the depths and drift; swipe your mouse and it paints ribbons that fold and dissolve.
Free to install. Ink Drop unlocks with Pro, $19 once, no subscription.
Ink Drop turns the New Tab page into a pool of dark water with coloured ink diffusing through it. Unlike a video, the water is a live two-dimensional fluid running on your graphics card, so every bloom and swirl is computed as it happens.
Nothing is a video. The scene is generated live on your graphics card with WebGL, so it never loops and never looks the same twice.
Ambient New Tab is free to install, with three free themes. Ink Drop is a Pro theme. Pro is a one-time $19 purchase, no subscription, and it unlocks every Pro theme, music sync, and every theme we release in the future. You can preview Ink Drop full screen before you buy: open the Themes panel and rest your mouse on it. Changed your mind? 14-day refund, no questions.
WebGL2 with floating-point textures, which every recent Chrome on a desktop or laptop has. Without it a simpler procedural ink stands in.
It is a Pro theme. Pro is a one-time $19 purchase, no subscription, that unlocks every Pro theme, music sync, and every future theme. Preview it full screen before buying.
It is one of the heavier themes, but it renders only while a New Tab page is visible, caps its resolution, and drops to 30 fps on battery.
No. It's a desktop browser extension for Chrome and Edge on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. If you're reading this on a phone, send yourself the link.
