Ambient New Tab browser extension and ambientnewtab.com, made by Rainbase Leads Inc., Brooklyn, New York · Effective September 29, 2026
These are the terms for using Ambient New Tab and for buying Pro. They are written in plain English on purpose. The short version: the free themes are free forever, Pro is a single $19 payment that unlocks everything we make, you have 14 days to change your mind, and we will always tell you the truth about what you are buying.
The free version
Installing Ambient New Tab from the Chrome Web Store gives you the free themes with no account, no time limit, and no strings. You can use it for as long as you like. We may add, change, or retire free themes over time.
What Pro is
Pro is a one-time purchase of $19 USD. There is no subscription and no renewal. Pro unlocks:
- Every Pro theme available today, and every theme we release in the future.
- Music sync, which animates themes to the audio playing in a tab.
- Any other Pro-only features we add.
"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the product: for as long as Ambient New Tab exists and Chrome supports it. Artist-made theme packs, if we ever sell them, are separate products and are not part of Pro. We will say so clearly before you buy any.
How Pro is tied to you
Your purchase is linked to the email address you give at checkout. That lets you restore Pro on another computer or after reinstalling by entering the same email. One purchase is for one person; please do not share your Pro login with others. If you lose access, email us and we will sort it out.
Payment
Checkout is handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe for card processing. We never see or store your card details. The charge appears on your statement as AMBIENT NEW TAB or AMBIENTNT. Prices are in US dollars; your bank may add a currency conversion fee, which we do not control. We may change the price of Pro in the future, but a price change never affects a purchase you have already made.
Refunds: 14 days, no questions
If Pro is not for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase from the address you used at checkout and we will refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason. Refunds go back to the original card and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank. After 14 days, purchases are final.
Please email us before disputing a charge with your bank. A refund from us is faster for you and far less painful for a small company than a chargeback.
Your data
The extension runs on your computer and sends nothing about you to us. What little it stores (including your first name, only if you choose to type it), and what ExtensionPay and Stripe keep for payment purposes, is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
What you can and cannot do
- You can use Ambient New Tab on any computer you own or control, for personal or work use.
- You cannot resell, redistribute, or repackage the extension or its themes, or remove the Pro lock and pass the themes on to others.
- You cannot use the extension to do anything unlawful, or to interfere with the service that checks your Pro status.
The extension, the themes, the artwork, and the code are owned by Rainbase Leads Inc. or our licensors. Buying Pro gives you a license to use them, not ownership of them.
Changes and shutdown
We may update the extension, add or retire themes, and change features as the product evolves. If we ever have to discontinue Ambient New Tab entirely, we will give notice on this website and, where we can, by email. Because Pro is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, no further charges would ever be involved.
No warranty
Ambient New Tab is provided "as is." We work hard to make it smooth and reliable, but we cannot promise it will run perfectly on every computer, graphics card, or browser version, or that it will be free of bugs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rainbase Leads Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension or this website. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, which for the free version is nothing and for Pro is $19.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by email will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. Changes never take away anything you already paid for.
