Gelato Light New Tab theme: pastel pink, orchid, orange and lime smoke drifting over a bright sky-blue background with dark clock text

Pro theme · Ambient New Tab for Chrome & Edge

Gelato Light
the same four flavours on a bright sky

The Gelato smoke on a bright sky-blue ground, with the clock and search darkened to match. The one light theme in the set, for people who find a dark New Tab page too heavy.

Add to Chrome, free How it works

Free to install. Gelato Light unlocks with Pro, $19 once, no subscription.

What you see on every new tab

Gelato Light is the bright version of Gelato Smoke: the same four-colour fluid simulation over the sky-blue of the original reference picture. Ambient New Tab reads the theme's light flag and switches the clock, date and search box to dark text so everything stays readable.

Nothing is a video. The scene is generated live on your graphics card with WebGL, so it never loops and never looks the same twice.

Questions

Is this the only light theme?

Yes, for now. Everything else in Ambient New Tab is on a dark ground.

Is Gelato Light free?

It is a Pro theme. Pro is a one-time $19 purchase, no subscription, that unlocks every Pro theme, music sync, and every future theme.

What does it need to run?

WebGL2 with floating-point textures, which every recent Chrome on a desktop or laptop has. Without it a drifting procedural version stands in.

Does it work on my phone?

No. It's a desktop browser extension for Chrome and Edge on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. If you're reading this on a phone, send yourself the link.
