Breezy Grass New Tab theme: a field of green and gold grass seen from above, with pale wind waves rolling across it

Breezy Grass
a field of silver grass rolling in the wind

An endless field of silver grass seen from high above in golden light. Wind rolls across it in waves: the grass stands tall and bright as a gust arrives, lies flat and dark as it passes, then slowly gets back up. Sweep your mouse to part it.

What you see on every new tab

Breezy Grass looks down on a hillside of silver grass and nothing else: no sky, no horizon, only the wind showing itself in the field. Every blade is real geometry, bent by the gust that is passing over it.

The grass: two layers: low curved leaf blades, and tall thin stems that each end in a feathery plume.
The wind: waves roll from right to left without a break, with a fine flutter running through everything.
The colour: dark green in the pressed-down troughs, yellow-green on the slopes, pale gold where the plumes catch the light.

Nothing is a video. Every blade is drawn and bent live on your graphics card with WebGL.

What it reacts to

Mouse: the grass bends away along the path of your cursor, more the faster you sweep, and recovers in a few seconds.
Music: with music sync on, bass speeds the waves, mids quicken the flutter, and each kick sends one gust across the field.
Night: the page dims after dusk.

Questions

Is it a looping video?
