What you see on every new tab
Tiny Tanks keeps the middle of the New Tab page black and empty and puts the action on the rim. Three small tanks roll round the corners, hop, take cover behind two rock hills, and shoot at each other across the whole screen. It plays itself; you only watch.
The tanks: Field Command in olive, an all-rounder; Toy Box in red with yellow wheels, a reckless hunter; and Chrome Assault in silver, a cold sniper. Each plans as a hunter, a sniper or an ambusher, and bears a grudge against whoever got it last.
Crates: mystery crates hold a drone, a shield, a speed boost or a laser, though some are empty. Once a match a golden crate parachutes in with a shell that makes a much bigger bang.
The match: kill counts sit under the search bar, with callouts for First Blood, Triple, Rammed, Shutdown, Match Point and Revenge. The winning shot plays in slow motion, the winner celebrates, and a new match starts from zero.
Nothing is a video. The battle is played out live in your browser by three little AIs, and no two matches go the same way.
What it reacts to
Mouse and music: nothing. The tanks make all their own decisions.
Night: the page dims after dusk.
